Baptism

1. The parent(s) of the child to be baptized must be registered parishioners of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church or live within parish boundaries/Deanery 5.  If parents are not registered parishioners or live within parish boundaries/Deanery 5, they must obtain the permission of their own Pastor as indicated on the Registration Form. 

 Los Padres del niño/niña deben ser feligreses de Nuestra Señora del Valle o vivir dentro del Decanato 5. Si los padres no estan registrados en nuestra parroquia y viven fuera del area de Decanato 5 deberan obtener un permiso de su Parroquia mas cercana a su hogar .

2. The Baptism Registration Form must be filled out in the Parish Center at least two weeks before the proposed date of baptism. (Please call to confirm your desired date is available.) 

La registracion de bautizo debe ser llena por lo menos 2 semanas antes de la fecha deseada para bautizar (por favor llame y confirme si la fecha esta disponible) el cupo es limitado.

• Click on- presione lo siguiente para empezar su registracion START REGISTRATION PROCESS to complete the online registration.  

3. Parent(s) must present the child's birth certificate when registering in person (or the unofficial copy from the hospital where the child was born IF the child is less than 5 months of age. This must contain the complete information on the parents and the newly-born child.) 

Padres deberan presentar copia de certificado de nacimiento de su niño/niña y debera ser menor de 7 años cuando se registren.

• A copy of the CHILD'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST BE EMAILED TO COMPLETE the online-registration.
  • Please send a scanned copy of the child's birth certificate to [email protected]
  • una copia del certificado de nacimiento debera ser enviada por correo electronico para completar el proceso de registracion si usted lo hizo en linea, enviar a [email protected]

4. On the baptism registration form, please make sure that the names of the godparents are spelled correctly.  

Asegurese de anotar el nombre de los padrinos correctamente, porque como lo escriba aparecera en el certificado de bautizo.

5. Registration: $60 (Donation will not be returned if baptism is canceled). 

La cuota de registracion es de $60 (que no es reemborsable si usted cancela)

6. Child to be baptized must be under seven (7) years of age. El niño/niña debera ser menor de 7 años.

7. The Parent(s) and the Godparent(s) must attend the Baptismal Preparation Course.

Padres y padrinos deberan tomar la clase de preparacion bautismal por separado en linea. solamente si bautizan en nuestra Parroquia.
(Children are NOT allowed in the Baptism Preparation Class.)
The one time, Baptism Preparation Classes are held on Monday before the baptism date at
7:00 p.m. -  9:00 pm. in Room 1 (For English speaking)

• Due to COVID-19, we are are asking for parents & Godparents to complete the Infant Baptism Online Course here.
• Please forward the certificate of the infant Baptism completion offered by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to: [email protected]

8.   Parents and Godparents must provide proof if they took the class in a different parish.
